Dr. Makala Robert Songabau

Specialist Gynecologist & Obstetrician

Dr. Songabau is a Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist (MMed O and G) who completed his specialist training in 2001 at Sefako Makgatho University of Health Sciences, previously known as MEDUNSA. He has been serving patients in full time private practice since 2009 at Louis Pasteur Private Hospital in Pretoria CBD and Zamokuhle Lenmed Tembisa in Gauteng Province. He also contributes to academic medicine as a Part time Lecturer and Clinical Periodic Specialist at George Mukhari Academic Hospital, a role he has held since 01 February 2023. He has maintained full registration with the HPCSA since 1991 and has been an active member of SAMA since 1993 and SASOG since 2012.

He is a fully registered Member of the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners (ABIME) and has held the designation of Certified Independent Medical Examiner since 2016. His expertise includes medical audits, disability and impairment assessments for road accident victims, as well as completion of RAF 4 forms. He has extensive experience in medico legal evaluations, including assessments, report preparation and court appearances for plaintiffs and dependents in medical negligence and malpractice cases in both gynaecology and obstetrics.
